Nationwide Lipspeaking Service - Providing Sign Supported English communication services on request in the UK
|
Home Page A lipspeaker is a hearing person who acts as a professional aid to communication between deaf and hearing people. Lipspeakers silently repeat a speaker's message as it is being spoken and the deaf person lipreads them. They reproduce clearly the shapes of the words and the natural rhythm and stress used by the speaker. They also use facial expression, gesture and, if requested, finger spelling, to aid the lipreader's understanding.
Level 3 lipspeaker available. Experiences include the Law Courts, Police, Child Protection Services, Social Services, Government Depts. conferences, hospitals and International work.
Lesley Weatherson - CACDP/ALS Registered Level 3 Lipspeaker Price Guide: Roughly £25-35 per hour depending on the nature of the job.
